As a travel blogger, I’ve had the chance to visit many amazing destinations, but St. Petersburg, Florida is a special place that’s close to my heart. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, this sun-soaked city is not only home to some of the world’s most stunning beaches, but it also boasts a rich history and a vibrant arts scene. Whether you’re a beach-lover, history buff, or just looking for a fun-filled getaway, St. Pete has something for everyone.

St. Petersburg was founded in 1888 by John C. Williams and Peter Demens, and its early development was largely due to the arrival of the Orange Belt Railway in 1888. The city quickly became a popular winter resort destination for wealthy Northerners and was known as the “Sunshine City”. In the 1920s, the city experienced a building boom and saw the construction of many of its most iconic buildings, including the Vinoy Park Hotel and the St. Petersburg Pier.

Fun Things to Do in St. Pete
Whether you’re a local or just visiting for the first time, St. Pete is full of exciting things to do and see. Here are just a few of my favorites:

5. Visit the St. Petersburg Pier – The St. Petersburg Pier has been a staple of the city since it was first built in 1889. Today, the Pier is a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, offering breathtaking views of Tampa Bay, shopping, dining, and entertainment options.
6. Spend some time in the crossway for some beautiful views of bridge or to relax and watch boats go by in the crystal clear water.
