As a travel blogger and adventurer, I've had the pleasure of exploring some of the most beautiful destinations in the Florida. But when I visited Cape Coral, Florida, I was blown away by the sheer beauty and charm of this hidden gem.
Cape Coral is a small city located in Southwest Florida, just a short drive from Fort Myers. It is situated on the Gulf of Mexico and boasts over 400 miles of navigable waterways, making it a paradise for boaters and water enthusiasts.
One of my favorite things to do in Cape Coral was to take a boat tour around the canals and waterways. The views are absolutely stunning, and you can spot all sorts of wildlife, including dolphins, manatees, and a wide variety of birds. The calm waters are perfect for kayaking, paddleboarding, and even fishing.
But there's more to Cape Coral than just its waterways. The city also has a number of beautiful parks and nature preserves. The Four Mile Cove Ecological Preserve is a must-visit for anyone who loves hiking and nature walks. The preserve boasts over 365 acres of wetlands, salt marshes, and mangrove swamps, and is home to a variety of wildlife.
I liked visiting the IWO JIMA Monument. It's a small park with picnic tables and a beautiful monument. There is plenty of hiking and opportunities to see wild life, just be careful with the snakes and reptiles.
When it comes to dining, Cape Coral has a wide range of options to suit any taste or budget. One of my favorites was the Rumrunners restaurant, which offers a waterfront dining experience with stunning views of the marina. Their menu features fresh seafood, steaks, and other delicious dishes.
If you're looking for a place to stay in Cape Coral, there are plenty of options to choose from. The Westin Cape Coral Resort at Marina Village is a luxurious option, with spacious rooms and a full-service spa. For a more budget-friendly option, the Dolphin Key Resort offers comfortable rooms and a convenient location close to all the city's attractions.
I loved their little shopping strip at Cape Harbour through the Westin property. You can sit there and watch boats, eat, shop, and relax and even go for delicious Freak Shakes at Gulf Coast Fudge Co.
Overall, I was thoroughly impressed with Cape Coral, Florida. It's a hidden gem that offers so much to see and do, from its stunning waterways to its beautiful parks and nature preserves. If you're looking for a unique and off-the-beaten-path destination, I highly recommend adding Cape Coral to your travel bucket list.
